badger mountain breakdownThis week, Mars and Mercury break up their conjunction. It will be nice to feel things power down to a dull roar and give us a chance to rethink a bit. Mars heads forward in Leo, into conjunction with Juno, as Juno heads into trine with retrograde Jupiter in Sagittarius. The relationships that set us off may now bring better humor and a chance to act to bring that forward. It helps to remember why we’re with these people, and we get the opportunity to play up those ties and bring the warmth back into focus.

Mercury moves back into Cancer to conjoin the Sun by the end of the week. But the headliners are the full moon eclipse in Capricorn and the aspects of Venus, particularly as they intertwine.

Monday the Capricorn Moon squares Chiron and trines Uranus. It goes on to oppose Venus and conjoin Saturn. The mood is climbing slowly to allow for rough road. Slow but steady works, but we can find we go up higher than we expected as we keep at it. It’s a “do the right thing” day. If your mood slides out from under you, get back on track as you can. By the end of the day, you’ll feel the progress. That’s worth the climb. Onward and upward.

Tuesday morning, Venus in Cancer quincunxes Jupiter and closes in on an opposition to Saturn (exact Tuesday night). The Cap Moon sextiles Neptune then goes on to conjoin Pluto. Have you noticed the points in relationship where you overfunction or underfunction? There are points of tension from multiple areas. It may feel daunting, a powerful urge to tear off the burden. If you can, sit with it rather than act.

Is it abuse? Is it something that underlays and sours the relationship? Is it the last straw, or does it point you back to a line of action to improve (Mars-Juno trine Jupiter)? We move into the full moon opposition by afternoon, with the Moon on the south node side of the equation. The higher move is generosity and letting it play out fully. That’s not always the case, nor is it always possible. Sometimes the other has the control.

Late Tuesday, Venus opposes Saturn exactly. It also forms a t-square with Pallas Athene in Libra. Relationship patterns can push us in programmed ways, ways that are not particularly pleasant. Look for the traps you set yourself, as well as those you see lobbed back. If you’re ever so hard-core, you can make this work to your advantage and shift that pattern forever.

Some people see hard work at love pay off. Some see it hit a wall. For some the pattern is too hard a habit to break and the rough patch is the continuation of an unpleasant coupling.

With Mercury retrograde, you might hear your words come back to bite you. Or likely it’s a drama. It’s also possible to retread and redirect once Mercury comes back across direct again. Not all endings are permanent for the relationship. Sometimes we really need a smash up fight to get things moving again. That can play out with words that come later too.

In another week, Venus opposes Pluto. Who knows what that will kill or resurrect. Exciting. Exquisitely delicious and powerful.

Wednesday, the Moon in Aquarius opposes retrograde Leo Mercury. The Moon sextiles Chiron and squares Uranus, then goes on to oppose Mars. A person can get bored after too much intensity. There’s only so much pushing we can take before it’s just the same old, same old. Every sensation and mood gets old. Spice it up! Watch out for people who start arguments just to see what happens. Throw them a curve ball! Don’t fall into their lead. Write your own script. Have a few choice gems handy. If someone gets haughty, you can one-up them with your cool. It’s okay to fake it. Take your time to reply; they won’t expect that. Look at them like they’re an alien, but you’re being gracious. The words will come eventually.

Thursday, the Aquarius Moon opposes Juno and sextiles Jupiter. The Moon trines Pallas Athene. Whichever way the wind blows regarding the aftermath of the eclipses, you’re bound to see some improvements in your relationships. They may not be the pithy changes and power matches, but there’s a fire burning in your long term storyline. Look for the patterns that satisfy. Rekindle an old flame (even on a newer pairing). You may even find yourself laughing over past struggles.

Thursday, Venus trines Neptune exact. It’s an invisible kiss, a present, a moment so sweet it can’t be real forever. But we can embed it in our hearts.

Friday morning Mercury hits the end of Cancer again. The attitudes, senses, and mind take on a more emotional tone. Our thinking drops down an octave, down a gear. It echoes the mood. The Aquarius Moon moves the mood through an airy angle of quincunx to the Sun and Mercury. There’s a new twist to the personal environment and everything takes on a longer view. The personal feels less cloying, and it’s a freeing perspective.

Friday evening, the Moon moves to Pisces and toward a sextile to Uranus. Keep the mood free, and for heaven’s sake – don’t go naval gazing. Not if it feels lousy.

The full moon eclipse in Capricorn takes place at 24 degrees. Where does that hit your chart?

My little chick drove to the top of the tallest mountain to have a cry this arvo… and her car broke down. That’s her under the black umbrella/parasol. How apropos. It gave me a chance to stop being dramatic about my own problems and help out. It made me feel strong, enduring, the best part of a Cap Moon.
